Land Acknowledgement Statement

We, the Snohomish United Methodist Church, respectfully acknowledge that we gather on the land of the Snohomish Tribe.

They have lived harmoniously with these lands and water for countless generations before the onslaught of colonization. Like Indigenous People across America, they experienced genocide, ethnic cleansing, theft of their land and water, and forced removal. Our ability to live, work, and enjoy this area is connected to their deep loss.

We ask all in our community to respect the Snohomish Tribe and learn the true history of the lands on which we reside.
